What you need:
A moss lined basket is ideal for planting a trailing succulent. One of the benefits of using moss as a liner is that it offers optimal drainage for your plant. Line a wire basket with moist sphagnum moss. The layer of moss should be about 1-1/2″ thick when compressed. |

| Fill the basket with commercial cactus mix. You can make your own by mixing one part sand with three parts soil-based potting mix. Make a hole for the plant in the center of the hanging basket. |

| Place the plant in the hole and spread its roots. Backfill some soil into the basket and firm around the plant’s root ball to remove any air pockets. |

| Water the plant a few days after planting. This will give the plant a chance to settle in its new home. |
