New York’s nursery industry is our state’s second largest agricultural commodity. According to the NY Department of Agriculture & Markets, there are 2,673 growers of ornamental plants in New York and 4,931 licensed retailers. There are no accurate estimates of the number of landscapers in New York, but Cornell University estimates “sales” by landscapers to be more than $2.7 billion annually. This number, coupled with estimated retail sales of $2.1 billion and growers production value of $390 million, means that the ornamental horticulture industry is big business for New York and ranks us overall sixth in the nation.

The New York State Nursery/Landscape Association is one of the state’s leading trade associations representing solely the needs of nurserymen, garden center operators and landscapers throughout New York. Dues for the NewYork State Nursery/Landscape Association are $165 annually. We’ve found that in many cases the savings from one or more of the discount programs alone more than justifies the cost.
