Rod Bailey was president of Evergreen Services Corporation, a landscape management contracting company based in Bellevue, Washington, for more than 30 years. The company provided landscape services throughout Western Washington and was sold successfully to TruGreen LandCare, a subsidiary of ServiceMaster, in December of 1998.
After receiving a masterís degree in business administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1961 and after spending four years with Procter & Gamble in Sacramento, California, Rod joined Harry J. Prior Associates, a regional management consulting company in Seattle in 1965.
Rod has been active in the landscape industry for a number of years. He is a past president of the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (1985) and also served as president of the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals in 1987.
He is a Charter Certified Landscape Professional (CCLP) and has been a member of the ALCA Certification Board for seven years. He participated in the acquisition of the Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) program by ALCA in 1995.
Rod was honored by ALCA with its 1996 national Landscape Service Award. In 1998 the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals honored Rod with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
Since separating from TruGreen LandCare in December of 1999, Rod has returned to consulting, working with small businesses to improve their performance. His focus is on long-range and strategic planning as well as organization development and financial management for small, emerging contractors in the landscape industry.
