 Aphelandra squarrosa

Does a zebra ever lose its stripes?  Not this zebra… Aphelandra squarrosa, commonly known as Zebra plant, is known by its strong leaves with stripes of creamy white.

Zebra plants make wonderful flowering additions to the interior landscape. Its long-lasting yellow spikes stand proudly above the striped foliage, making it a real eye-catcher when placed in a decorative pot in a brightly lit area of the home.

How do you tame the zebra? Simple: locate in an area of bright light and keep the soil barely moist between waterings. When it’s finished flowering, remove the entire flowering stalk.  And enjoy.
